Jamesaves Refund Policy

At Jamesaves, we stand behind the quality of our handcrafted jewelry and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and procedures for requesting a refund, ensuring transparency and fairness for all our customers.

1. Eligibility for Refunds

To be eligible for a refund, your request must meet the following criteria:

  • Timeframe: The request must be submitted within 30 days of the delivery date (as confirmed by the shipping carrier’s tracking information).
  • Condition of Items: The jewelry must be in unused, original condition—no signs of wear, damage, scratches, or alterations. It must be returned in its original packaging (including boxes, pouches, tags, and any accompanying certificates of authenticity).
  • Proof of Purchase: You must provide a valid proof of purchase, such as an order confirmation email, receipt, or order number.

Exceptions (No Refunds Will Be Issued For):

  • Customized/Personalized Items: Engraved jewelry, birthstone-specific designs, or made-to-order pieces (unless they arrive with a manufacturing defect—see Section 4).
  • Final Sale Items: Products marked “Final Sale” at checkout (these are clearly labeled on the product page and during the purchase process).
  • Items Returned After 30 Days: Requests submitted beyond the 30-day window will be denied, unless extenuating circumstances are approved by our customer service team (approval is at our sole discretion).
  • Items Damaged by Customer: Jewelry damaged due to improper care, accident, or misuse.

2. How to Request a Refund

Follow these steps to submit a refund request:

  • Your full name, email address, and phone number (matching the details on your order).
  • Order number and delivery date.
  • Reason for the refund (e.g., “Changed mind,” “Item doesn’t match description”).
  • Clear photos of the jewelry and its original packaging (to verify condition).
  1. Receive Return Authorization (RA): Our team will review your request within 2 business days. If approved, we will send you a unique Return Authorization (RA) number and a prepaid shipping label (for domestic orders only). International customers are responsible for covering return shipping costs.
  2. Ship the Item Back: Package the jewelry securely (using the original packaging if possible) and affix the RA number prominently on the outside of the package. Ship the item back to us within 7 days of receiving the RA number.

Note: Returns sent without a valid RA number will be rejected and returned to the sender.

3. Refund Processing

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund as follows:

  1. Inspection Period: Our team will inspect the returned jewelry within 3-5 business days of delivery to our warehouse. We will verify that it meets the eligibility criteria (unused, original condition, correct item).
  2. Approval/Rejection Notification: We will email you to confirm whether your refund has been approved or rejected. If rejected, we will explain the reason and, if applicable, offer an alternative solution (e.g., exchange, store credit).
  3. Refund Disbursement: Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. The timeline for receiving the refund depends on your payment provider:
  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-7 business days (processing times may vary by bank).
  • PayPal/Other Digital Wallets: 2-4 business days.
  • Gift Cards: Refunds will be issued as a new Jamesaves gift card (sent via email).

Non-Refundable Charges:

  • Shipping Fees: Original shipping costs (for delivering the item to you) are non-refundable, unless the refund is due to our error (e.g., wrong item shipped, defective product).
  • Return Shipping Costs: For international orders, return shipping fees paid by the customer are not refundable.

4. Refunds for Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive a jewelry piece that is:

  • Defective: Has a manufacturing flaw (e.g., loose stone, broken clasp, faulty engraving, incorrect metal type).
  • Incorrect: Not the item you ordered (e.g., wrong design, size, or color).

Follow these steps for a full refund (including original shipping costs):

  1. Contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos/videos of the defect or incorrect item.
  2. Our team will verify the issue and send a prepaid shipping label (for domestic and international orders) to return the item.
  3. Upon receipt and inspection, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method within 3-5 business days, or offer a free replacement (your choice).

5. Refunds for Cancelled Orders

  • Cancellations Within 12 Hours: If you cancel your order within 12 hours of placing it, we will issue a full refund (including shipping fees, if applicable) within 3-5 business days.
  • Cancellations After 12 Hours: If you cancel after 12 hours, but before production has started, we will issue a 90% refund (10% covers processing costs). If production has already begun (especially for custom items), cancellations are not allowed, and no refund will be issued.

6. Refund Status & Inquiries

To check the status of your refund:

  • Allow the full processing time (5-7 days for card refunds, 2-4 days for PayPal) before following up—delays may occur due to your bank or payment provider.
